Description
1. Material and Mechanical Properties
- Main material: high-quality carbon structural steel, typically Q235, 35# steel, or 45# steel.
- Manufacturing process: integral die forging or hot rolling. Forgings shall be free from defects such as cracks, overheating, and laps.
- Failure Load: * Typically ranges from 40 to 550 kN, as specified in the design.
- Heat treatment: Normalizing or quenching and tempering to refine the grain structure and enhance overall mechanical properties.
2. Surface Treatment and Corrosion Protection
- Treatment method: Hot-dip galvanizing
- Galvanizing standards: Comply with ISO 1461 or ASTM A153.
- Zinc coating thickness: * Average thickness of the threaded portion: 54 μm
Average thickness of the shaft and other parts ≥86 μm
- Galvanizing Quality: The zinc coating shall be uniform and smooth, with no areas of incomplete coating, zinc nodules, or flaking.
3. Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances
- Head shape: Matched to the insulator type (e.g., ball-end, long-neck end, etc.).
- Thread specifications: Common sizes include M20, M24, and M27, with a typical tolerance grade of 6g/6H. Note: After galvanizing, the threads must be able to screw in smoothly.
- Bending Deviation: The verticality deviation of the steel leg shall be controlled within 0.5% of the total length.
4. Key Features
- Creepage distance: For steel feet used in polluted areas (such as coastal regions), an HL (High Leakage) design shall be adopted to ensure that the clearance between the exposed parts and the insulator sheds complies with the relevant technical specifications.
- Low-temperature performance: If the material is to be used in extremely cold regions, a low-temperature impact energy test must be conducted (e.g., at –40°C).
- Nondestructive Testing: Critical components shall undergo 100% magnetic particle testing (MT) or ultrasonic testing (UT) to ensure that the forging is free of porosity and hidden cracks.
